1.Type your website URL in the navigation bar. Press Enter.

 2. Click on log in or Site Admin or the Manage link on your page.

3. Enter your username and password. Click log in.

 Now you are at your Dashboard. (from here we can accesses different tools to Edit your site with.)

How to edit your comments

To approve, mark as spam, or delete pending comments, follow these steps.

1. Click  Pending.

2. Make sure the comment(s) are not spam by reading the text carefully, and only approve people that you know are legitimate.

3. Edit comments if missspelled, hover over comment and Click Quick Edit.

4. When you are done editing. Click Update Comment.

5. If you want to reply to the comment,  hover over the comment and Click Reply.

Then enter in your reply and Click Approve and Reply. (This will approve the comment right away.)

6. If you do not want to reply, but want to approve the comment, hover over the comment and Click Approve. (Do this to each comment you want to approve.)

To mark unwanted comments as Spam.

7.  When you mark a comment as spam, it deletes the comment off your site and blocks that computer user from commenting on your site (for a while, they will try again). If you want to mark  the comment as spam, hover over the comment and Click Spam.  Trash Comments you just dont like if the comment is legitimate.

8. If you clicked spam on the wrong comment you can Click Undo to bring the comment back.

9. Once you have choosen all of the comments that are spam they go into your spam folder.  You can get there by Clicking Spam(#).

10. Once you are in your spam folder you can “Not Spam” comments.  If you sent a comment in there and you did not get to undo it you can by hovering over the comment Clicking Not Spam.

11. To empty your Spam folder by Click Empty Spam.

To delete comments you don’t want to mark as spam.

12. To delete a comment go back to the folder the comment that you want delete is at, either All, Pending, or Approved.  (You will want to delete comments if there are duplicates, if they are old, or maybe a comment you don’t care for, but you do not want to block the user from your site.)

13. To choose a comment to delete.  Hover your mouse over the comment and Click Trash.  (If you hit Trash on a comment you didn’t want to, you can undo it like in step 7)

14. Click Trash(#).

15. You can restore a comment if you Click Restore.

16. Empty out your trash folder by Clicking Empty Trash.

17. Go back to your Dashboard.  Click Dashboard.

How to Add a post.

You will want to make a new post when you want add updates of upcoming events, new release of products, or general info you want your site to have.  Follow these steps.

1. Click Posts.



2. Click Add New.

3.Enter Title.

4. You never want to edit your page in the HTML editing box, so always make sure your editing box is on the Visual tab. By Clicking Visual.  This will allow you to make changes as “What you see is what you get” (WYSWIG).

5. Click on the Kitchen Sink button to show more options for editing.

6. Click and hold down the lower right part of the text box to drag it out for a bigger size box.

7. Enter your text.

8. You can preview your post to make sure it looks correct by Clicking on Preview.  A new tab will appear with your post on it.

9. Once you are satisfied that your page looks correct, you can Click Exit to return to your edit post page.  If there are errors, you can edit them.

10. Once you are done with your post, you can either Save Draft or Publish. If you Save Draft then that means you are not done with your post and saving it to edit later.

When you are done creating your post you can Publish it.  This will put your post directly to your site.

11. After saving or publishing your New post you can go back to your dashboard.  Click Dashboard.

How to edit your Post

1. Click on Posts.

2. Click edit.

3. Follow steps 3-10 on How to add a new Post.

How to delete a post

1. Click Posts.

2. Hover over the post you want to delete, then Click Trash.

3. You can undo it by Clicking Undo.

4. Click Trash(#) to empty out selected items in your trash folder.

5. If there is a post in your trash you could not Undo you can restore it by selecting it and Clicking Restore.

6. To delete all item in your Trash folder.  Click Empty Trash.

7. Go back to your Dashboard.

If you are allready logged in and at your editing box where you want to add a picture skip the first 3 steps and start below where it says DASHBOARD.

1.Type your website URL in the navigation bar.  Click Enter.

2. Click on Site Admin or log in or Manage (according to what you have on your site.)

3. Enter your username and password. Click log in.

At your DASHBOARD, we can accesses different tools to edit your site with.

1. Click on Pages on Posts (according to where you want to add your picture.)

2. Click on the page/ post you want add a picture to.

3. Click your mouse to position the cursor (blinking line) where you want to add your Picture. Click on the Media Icon above your Toolbar.

4. Click Select Files to upload your picture.

5. Click on picture you want to add. Click on Open upload picture.

5. Scroll down to see the Picture full page options.

6. You can resize the picture by clicking Resize (most times you will resize before uploading). Also, most times you will click NONE in the Link URL choice.

7. Finally, to put the picture in the post (or page) you click the Insert Into Post button.  That’ts it!

Note: If you click save changes your picture will be there for you to choose later.

How to add a new Page

1. Click on Pages.

2. Click on Add New.

3. Enter your Page title.

4.  Now you need to create a permalink/slug.

A permalink/slug is the pages URL. It will start with your domain then permalink name you choose. For example: If I choose the words sample as my permalink then the pages url would be your-site-name-here.simplesites.tc/Sample. The permalink/slug should be short and to the point. It should represent your pages, somehow. No larger then 8 letters and no special characters or spaces. To do this follow these steps.

1. Click edit next to the current Permalink – change it to something short and sweet.

2. Type in permalink/slug you decided on.

3. Click OK.

4. You get to decide if you want people to comment at the bottom of your page or not. If you decided you don’t want people to be able to comment you need disable this option by scrolling down your page until you can see a check mark in a box that says Allow Comments. Uncheck this box.

5.  Before going any further your going want to save your work so far.  Click Save Draft.

6. Click on the Kitchen Sink button to show more options for editing.

6. Another thing to check is to make sure your editing box is on the Visual tab. By Clicking Visual in the upper right corner – Not HTML.  

7. To enlarge your editing box. Click down  on the lower right hand side of your box and drag down.

8. Type in your add text, add picture, add table in the editing box. (If you want to learn more about Adding a picture click here).  

Once done click Save Draft.

9. After you entered in your page contents you will need to check to make sure your page looks correctly. You can do this by clicking Preview. This will open a new tab.

10. Once you check to make sure your website looks correctly. You can exit out of that window and go back to the editing page window. Then you can make any change you need and repeat  this two step until your site is the way you want it.

Click exit after reviewing page.

11. Once your page is completed the way you want you can publish it. Click publish. (this make it visible to the public’s eyes.)

12. When done go back to your Dashboard.

How to edit your pages

1. Click on Pages.

2. Click on the Page you want to edit.

3.  Follow step 6 – 11

Tips ( When editing a page don’t not delete pictures or videos unless you know how to bring them back. Try to only edit the texted areas. If you do mess something

up like delete a picture or video just don’t Publish the page. Do a page reload and start over again.)

The E-mail Accounts wizard will now show.  The ‘Add a new e-mail account’ option should be selected automatically.  If not, select it before continuing the wizard.

When the ‘Server Type’ screen appears, select the POP3 option if its not already selected and continue the wizard.

When the ‘Internet E-mail Settings (POP3)’ screen appears, enter your name and email address.  Your user name is your email address and the password is the one provided by us if one wasn’t requested or the one you requested.

In the Server Information section, enter ‘mail.yourdomain.com’ or ‘mail.thetechpros.com’ for both the Incoming and Outgoing mail servers.

Before continuing, click the ‘More Settings’ button to configure advance options.

Select the ‘Outgoing Server’ tab and be sure to put a check mark in the ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’ option.

Now select the ‘Advanced’ tab.  Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 587.  The default is 25 and most ISP block that port which is why we are changing it to 587.

Now click OK to close the dialog box.  You have now completed the setup of your email account.  You should see a screen like the one below.  Just click finish and you’re all set.

One of our oldest, and most productive sites.  Joe sells parts nationally and stays busy most months of the year with traffic from this site.  Joe spent a huge amount of time and personal effort submitting his site to search engines and linking on other sites, Joe has paid on occasion Google.com for traffic – but he limits his expenditure as his site ranks very well (first page) under his desired keywords nationally on Google.com and other search sites.  He does a great business on-line because he has a great business model and offers an excellent product.  Visitors contact Joe using one of two forms located on the site, they can also request information about featured parts Joe lists in a special section of the website added a few years back.  The older “looking” design doesn’t seem to bother visitors, they just want a good deal on good parts and apparently this site portrays that – Joe says if its not broke don’t fix it.  But I say we have to stay progressive – so see Joes sister site lower-unit.net for more info.

User setup a Google ad-words campaign and watches the Statistics Page viewing her Keywords and makes changes to her blog accordingly – VERY active user.

User can change the status of an item which might be on active auction on eBay, or with him at an auction to “not available” or “on eBay” auction.  User has the ability to add other users so that they can offer there items for sale on the site.  There are sales reports / tracking.  The cool thing about this site is the control the visitor has over looking at the sports collectibles close up / front – back and the ablity to make a purchase right away using PayPal or by check or money order. 

User watches the Statistics Page viewing Keywords and makes suggestions to us about updating his keyword meta tags and description – user just uses the site and does not actively promote it. 

More emphasis was put on the function of this site than on its form.  The plain text buttons and general look may be updated as the online portion of the business prospers and changes can be afforded.
