Google Profile Manager (GPM) is different then Google Analytics (GA) and Google Search Console (GSC). I am going to cover the basics of what each does to help you understand the differences.
Google Profile Manager (GPM)
GPM is where all primary business information lives. This is the information that Google uses to show people about your business.
- Name, address, phone number (NAP)
- Location
- Business Hours
- Reviews and Replies
- etc. (Google is adding more data points(without notice) that need to be updated when they are added)
Google Analytics (GA)
GA is where a company sees all of their historical statics and analysis. This is normally used by industry professions or business owners who love to analyze data.
- Track overall traffic volume, sources (referral, search, direct, etc.), and individual user visits
- Understand user demographics, interests, and geographic locations
- Monitor key engagement metrics like bounce rate, session duration, and page views per session
- Evaluate user interactions with specific elements like buttons, forms, and videos
- Monitor conversions (e.g., purchases, signups, downloads) and their sources
- Analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and identify areas for improvement
- Identify opportunities for improving user experience and driving business growth
Google Search Console (GSC)
GSC is where a businesses or industry professional can gain valuable insights into the website’s health, performance, and visibility in search results, ultimately leading to better SEO, user experience, and overall website/online business success.
