Google My Business (GMB) transitioned to a new name in June 2022: Google Business Profile (GBP). The purpose of the name change was to better reflect the platform’s broader functionality, which extends beyond managing “listings” to include features like post creation, review management, and customer messaging.
While all existing features and functionality carried over to the new name, some aspects of Google My Business have changed:
- The Google My Business app is no longer available. You can now manage your listing directly through Google Search or Google Maps.
- The web interface for managing multiple locations has been renamed “Business Profile Manager.” This interface retains similar functionality to the old Google My Business, but is specifically designed for businesses with multiple locations.
